if it has the function , you get the camera to take stills every 10 minutes or to the time you specify. and then you get the stills and put them together in your editor. most people use a standard video camera to do this , as it is easier , you then speed to footage up , this works because you dont move the camera at all , and you dont have to take pictures manually. ..but it can be done that way
