How Should We Reward our Kids for Good Grades?

How Should We Reward our Kids for Good Grades?
The teachers have been met, school supplies are bought, and lunches are being made daily. A new school year has begun; the scared kindergartener, the excited elementary child, the confused junior high student, and the ‘mature’ high school student all made it through the first day of school. Some parents are sad and cried all the way home, while others are excited to finally have some time alone. One thing all parents have in common is they want to help their children succeed.
Every parent wants the very best for their child, and they know that education is the key to helping them realize their individual potential. Earn Your Future™ (EYF) was conceived by parents who want to help other families reward their children (grades K through 12) for good work, while also planning for their future education at a college, university, trade or technical
school. The Earn Your Future program is based on a concept that has been around for years, paying our children for their good grades. We want to show them how proud we are of them, so for many of us that is done through money. When we do a good job at work we get a raise, right? Since going to school is a child’s ‘job’ wouldn’t it make sense to pay them for their achievements? This has always been my thought, but I also began to get annoyed by the candy and toys that were being bought with the ‘report card money’. As parents we spend a lot of time considering the pros and cons of each decision we make. The ‘report card money’ decision is no different. Maybe we shouldn’t pay our kids for good grades, since it all becomes junk that ends up in the trash, the pride they feel for a good grade is payment enough. Maybe I should just take her out to eat at her
favorite restaurant or go to a movie, she would like that. After reviewing all pros and cons, I am confident it is necessary to continue rewarding her hard work. I will continue to reward her, but instead of handing her the money, I will put it in a college fund. This will not only reward her hard work but it will also help me later when her good grades get her into an expensive college.
Thankfully, the Earn Your Future program is available, it is a fantastic resource that allows not only me but also other family members and close friends to get involved with rewarding good grades. This program is perfect for every family’s budget, it is FREE to register and you name your own contribution amount. Take a moment to explore the many benefits of involving your family and friends in the future of your child. –~~~~~~~~~~~~–
