Question by zoid addict: how to make the resolution of a video smaller? to reduce the size of the video and even the file size..?
because i’ve always download or asked movies from my friends and the size rages from 700mb above. but i’ve also seen in some forums movies which are only 200-400mb. how can i make my big movies into smaller ones?

for example: i have kung fu panda and quarantine.

kung fu panda = 198 mb = 92 minutes
quarantine = 650mb = 80 minutes

see what i mean. panda is even longer but the size is way smaller than the other..

so are there any free converters i can download to reduce the size of videos?

Talking about free software use Avi-Recompressor
There is option there which allows you to set final size, resolution and audio bitrate.
It works with .avi containers.

And if you need pro like soft, there are many expensive programs there.
