I recently purchased a Zune 30 and installed the software from the original CD onto my Vista computer. The program kept shutting down on me and shutting down my computer too but not all the way. The power button light and keyboard lights would stay on but there was nothing on the screen, like it was asleep or something. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software lots of times to always get the same thing eventually. Sometimes it would start immediately other times it would work for a few days before starting this weird behavior.
Shortly thereafter my computer would just start shutting down randomly (but not all the way!) wherther or not the Zune software was running. I figured I had a virus or malware and decided to completely restore the computer.
It’s been fine for three days since the restore but today I installed the Zune software again thinking that maybe the “virus or malware” was what was making the software not function right and surprise surprise the computer shut down on me again (but not completely) just like before.
I quickly did a system restore to the day it was completely restored and it is working fine now, (knock on wood) but I really like my Zune and would like to keep it especially since I have spent so much on the movies music etc.
I have the software installed on my parents computer but I do not want to have to use their computer every time I want to load music or movies or get podcast updates. (I am 31 I do not live with them they live a couple of towns away so it’s not like the computer is in the other room!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already tried uninstalling/reinstalling, firewall disable/reinable.

well being the barrer of bad news vista spcs are incapadable with zune or apple software when you install your zune software there will be a custum install buttun click that button and set too custum vista hat should be your problem
