If You Don’t Love To Work – Read This!

You know the drill, or if you had the typical well-inside-the-box “advice” from any well-meaning somebody in your life – you’ve had the following speech at some point:

Stay in school, work hard, get a college degree and get a decent job.

Alright, this article isn’t meant to take away your drive to better yourself as you complete basic school, through dilligence apply yourself and then hopefully land a decent job as your reward. The basic formula works if you want an average, little-yellow-house-white-picket-fence-and-a-hopefully-fixed-rate-mortgage life.

Here’s one of the problems with the formula: you wind up working at a job that isn’t guaranteed to be there tomorrow. You’ll land a job with a definite ceiling as you fill the role of a simple cog in someone else’s machine. Years go by. All of a sudden you look around

–~~~~~~~~~~~~–

and realize you’ve been played – you’re a cog in someone else’s machine, and now you need to get a second “job” to make ends meet.

Pump the brakes, fellow traveller – that master script doesn’t have to be in your bio!

Listen, you need to know something they didn’t tell the hard-working dads and moms of this last generation: there are options. One of the best ways to avoid burnout and actually enjoy your life is to:

Do What You Love and You’ll Love to Work

Sound trite? It’s really not. Nor is it a pipe dream, or a Hollywood movie script. It’s reality – and the first question is to ask yourself one question: what on Google Earth do you love to do? What turns your crank? What churns your butter – and hopefully you’re eating butter and not some fictional substance that can’t believe it’s killing you slowly (let’s talk about that

later)?

Guess what the author of this article loves to do? Are you ready for it? He loves to write. Really – all the time like some writing fiend. Know what he does?

Writes. All. The. Time.

He also loves to work!

Benefits To Re-inventing the Wheel

Yes, this is a new way of thinking – and don’t settle for someone else selling you what they love to do, either – this has to be your dream. Figure out what they “don’t” have to pay you to do, and find a way to monetize it. The benefits are that you’ll get more done, produce higher quality work, and live a fulfilled life.

Unless, of course, you don’t mind living someone else’s dream, working under some middle manager who’s coming down like fire from on high because you’re cramping his bonus, all to find out years later you’ve found a new low in “depression.”

Do what

–~~~~~~~~~~~~–

you love. Get paid for it. Love to work. Think outside the box.

Begin today with a goal, a plan, a deadline – then start walking true North. You’ll get there.

He loves what he’s doing!
