I found this book to be amazing and eye opening, and i wounder how this book was never a movie, how would one go about making this book into a movie? for a low budget

i’m reading this book in class,
and i find it a really good book,
and i wonder aswell why it wasn’t made into a movie,
and that it still isn’t.
