The tests are very annoying the first time you’re playing. The first one, I had no idea what I did right everytime I passed it, and most often I just got my head chopped. You’re supposed to click on the small stone that’s brighter than the rest of the ground. The second one is easy if you know how to read. The third… dear Lord, it was annoying. I thought there was some trick to it, but you just have to click on the other end right away as you enter the screen, because if you move even a bit up or down, you’ll fail. The bridge is about a pixel wide and you’re on the right level when you enter. If you wait around, the game moves Indy a bit so that you’ll fail anyway, so you have to go over the gap fast. Choosing the Grail… with the original game came a “real” Grail Diary that had several pages about what the Grail might look like, taken from different articles and scripts. Naturally in 2009, I didn’t get the Grail Diary (people like to keep manuals, maps and even game covers when selling used games, so why not a Grail Diary) so I was a bit bummed. I had to download a pdf file online to pass it without going through the tests several times (the game starts you back at the Donovan shooting Henry if you fail, no game over). The Grail is found by first looking at the inscriptions in Venice. They mention 2 different possible descriptions for what the Grail looks like.
