Someone told me that in the first few weeks of a movie’s release the studios make a bigger percentage of a movie’s earnings, and then later on the theaters make a bigger percentage. is this true?

Cinemas make very little on the movies they show. The admittance just pays the expenses of running the establishment. Their profits are made with the selling of all that junk-food and drinks.
