Question by Amy A.: Is this a valid example of post modernism?
I am trying to explain post modernism in a report to present to my whole class and said “Think about how Hollywood is making movies for all the classic comic books”. Is that post modernism? It’s the second wave of a cultural thing? If this is a bad example please give me a good one? Thanks 🙂
I learned about post modernism the same day I learned pastiche and am suspecting I got them switched around 🙂

I think post modernity is tricky, hard to pin point it. A good example I would say is Raves, and how they have a new post modern religious connection-all get on e and dance all on the same vibe. This is good because it is in the now, and its a change in times, people using things like that to connect. Another good one is the net, in post modern times, the access to information leaves us free to chose pretty much anything to get passionate about, people tend to, now days, experience as much as possible rather than going away to ‘find themsselves’.

I only really know about stages of modernity in reference to religion and technology, focus on the societal changes that come with technology.
