Before Jankibai can reveal the names, Lachho manages to escape. However, Jankibai names Nelson and then passes away. Blinded by fury, Gangadhar goes to kill Nelson but the Prime Minister stops him. Gangadhar goes to Fort William to complain about Nelson’s ghastly deed and warns him to investigate the matter or hand over Nelson to him. A helpless Dalhousie seeks Gangadhar’s forgiveness and promises to duly punish Nelson. Dalhousie strips Nelson of all his rank symbols and has him sent back to England. As part of his next ploy, Dalhousie appoints Ellis in Nelson’s place to revive East India Company’s sagging image amongst the people.
