Week 75, Assignment 2 for Take A Class With Dave and Dave.
The Beatles – We’ve done U2 and REM. Now let’s turn the clock back a bit and create an image inspired by The Beatles. Please spare us photos of actual beetles (the bugs) or VW Bugs or any other clever thing that has nothing to do with one of the most popular musical groups of all time. Thanks. 🙂
The Uglies noticed that a lot of their fellow uglies were featured in Beatles shots this week and they wanted to participate as well. I pointed them towards a Beatles website and gave them CD’s to listen to all this week.
They decided on Act Naturally. I’d like to think that I had some influence as it is one of my favorite songs by them, in small part due to Buck Owens recording it first as well as Loretta Lynn recording a version before The Beatles. Unfortunately, they said it was because of the Godzilla movie that Poe and Cinko saw the other day. Babo tried to watch, but got too scared.
Anyway, this is what I came home to today. I had to use a side door just to get into the house. They decided that Poe would be the star, being that he is a dragon and they decided it was totally natural for him to terrorize a city. They did feel that they had to add a member to their crew, being that The Beatles were a four man group so they kidnapped a walrus from Savanah’s room. I don’t think they realized the significance of that move, but after I explained it to them they were even more excited. I drew the line at them using an egg in the shot as well. Poe wanted to smash the egg for the picture, but once I told him he’d have to clean it up he didn’t want to have anything to do with that.
