mac or pc…laptop?

Question by somewhat_med: mac or pc…laptop?
I am in need of a new computer and would like a laptop of some sort. I have never used a mac, but very am open to learning.
I only use the computer for internet surfing/shopping, selling on ebay and storing photos.
I have no need for any gaming, movie making/editing, word processing/business software and I don’t download songs/burn cd’s.
I would like something that is easy to use, and that won’t crash every other week like my current Dell desktop!
I would like something that is easily updateable if I choose to broaden my horizens with photo editing and/or downloading/burning cd’s
I am looking to spend under $ 1,000
Any opinions on refurbished computers?
I really don’t like Dell’s…I haven’t had good luck with them so if I have to spend extra money to get something else than that isn’t a problem
