I have (I believe) a really good idea for a book or a movie. Aside from writing it out, what do I do to get it published as a book or made into a movie? I’m not looking for an independent movie company, I want my book/movie to be known.

I would definitely write the book and then shop it around to major publishing house like Random, etc. Most great books, started out as great movies. If you want to write it as a movie you should investigate screen writing classes in your neighborhood.
