A geisha is a performer, dancer, instrumentalist, singer, etc. There’s also the tea-pouring thing which is like a dance.
A geisha gives up her whole life to train from a young age and then entertain. In her okiya she is beaten if she does something wrong. She has sleep with her danna and really has no say in who he is. She is trapped.
