I want to make a home movie with my friends but i want it to be kind of real meaning that we are going to have scripts n stuff and on a tripod but my question is HOW DO I MAKE THE VIDEO THAT I TAKE OUT LOOK CLEAR,I MEAN NOT LOOK LIKE A HOME MOVIE MORE LIKE A FILM…..UNDERSTAND….??I WANT TO LOOK CLOSE TO FILM QUALITY HOW IS IT POSSIBLE I CAN DO THAT?OH AND IF NOTHING IS POSSIBLE TO HELP MY SONY VIDEO CAMERA THEN WHERE CAN I BUy a real FILM MAKERS video camera and software to produce real like movies and have good quality video and sound…..help also i need the sound to sound clear not all fuzzy.help i have a mac anyways so whatever software for mac

You’ll need to mic the sound for good sound. You can rent a little thing about the size of an ipod and hook up a mic to that or rent something bigger like a boom mic. A mini dv recorder is what we used on couples at the alter. The guy would have the little recorder in his pocket and the mic was basically very well placed so as not to be noticed, and we recorded every breath.

You can rent HD cameras in certain stores. I’ve helped to shoot weddings and we’ve used Sony HD cameras and Panasonic ones that did a great job for us. The wedding videos are in widescreen, and on dvd they look fabulous.

Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. Rehearse it enough so that when the actors are finally on camera, they’re so into what their characters have got to do that they aren’t self-consicous about being on camera.

Sometimes local colleges/film schools have places to rent out cameras as well, so check those out.
