The process of the forging and crafting of Vinwid, tri layer blade by David DelaGardelle of the MAD Dwarf Workshop. The awesome bladesmith/blacksmith Ric Furrer showed us how to correctly weld the billet together which was used for the blade. Check out Ric’s site at: doorcountyforgeworks.com The blade consists of a tool steel cutting edge core and a wrought iron backing spine which gives the blade its pattern. A few steps that were made are missing in the shown process, such as: – tempering the blade – burning the tang into the handle – and edge sharpening But we hope you enjoy this look into the crafting of this blade!
