Movie Making Tips?

Question by James Fritt: Movie Making Tips?
When making a movie, what advice can you give me? Lighting ideas, and camera models in the 500 dollar range, and filters, and editing software, but also how to shoot, and how the actors should act, audio stuff, and what you think makes a good movie, like what you see, and how the actors bring the script to life.

To me what makes a good movie is anything that the audience can believe. Make sure the score or background music never overpowers whats on the screen, it has to just flow. Personally I hate scenes that are poorly lit. Direct lighting may make it TOO light so you might want to get some reflectors. So make sure the lighting is believable.. take as much time as you need getting it right. And whatever the actors do make sure it doesn’t look like their acting. Make sure the actors convey the characters lives as the character would if they were really people. Overacting is so unattractive. So make sure it looks like their living out their lifes and handling conflicts as the actual character would. If its a comedy scene make sure nobodys TRYING to be funny, just be real. I always say the best movie is the movie that makes you forget its a movie.
