Movies vs Normal Digital Camera/TV. Why they look different?
Question by Kyle H: Movies vs Normal Digital Camera/TV. Why they look different?
I have been looking around for more information about the subject. I know that in movies, they use regular film instead of digital. But this is more of a quality reason, and that they use tracking shots and the fps is different. I was wondering what else they used. I heard stuff about 3 point lighting and 16:9 ratios, and different programs, but I wanted to know about it in more detail. Like more of a vs. kind of thing. I hears that the frame rate is slowed down. Is there any way to make digital footage look like a movie? Techniques? Tutorials? Programs? The more detail the better. Thanks

Photography and cinematography benefit from a good technical knowledge of lighting and exposure. That makes the huge amount of difference in picture quality. All I’m saying is learn the craft to be able to match what Hollywood is doing. It is possible to get close even with substandard equipment as long as you know exactly what you’re doing. At the end of the day, it is still the photographer or cinematographer that dictates picture quality. The camera is just a tool.
