I make movies with my friends from school. When I get out of highschool I want to go to a filmschool or something. Until I go pro I want to get some practice. I have a camera, blue screen, lights, props, ect. but I realy want to get realy cheap equipment for making MOVIES like rain macine, fog machine, pro camera (mini Dv of course). 10 points to the guy or gal who can give me a website or some of their own stuff. I’ve already made one grand on my first movie!

well most stuff you can get at BHphotovideo.com. Its one of the best sites for equipment. If you need grip equipment then go to Filmtools.com. Both places are extremely reliable.

As for props and fog machines and all that, you might want to invest in some textbooks that give you a bit more insight into everything that makes a movie, lighting especially. If you want to make a good movie, invest in a lighting kit and C-stands. You can build a decent lighting kit by buying stuff cheap off of ebay or you can get an Arri fresnel lighting kit for about $ 2000. Its worth it cause Arri equipment is built to be complete workhorses.

If you wanna build your own setup, seach for Colortran, Altman, Mole Richardson, and Disisti and Ianiro (begins with an uppercase i) in Ebay.

I’ll tell you one thing though, if you don’t know how to light properly, your films are gonna suck, if you dont know how to compose a shot properly, your films are gonna suck. If you don’t have a good story, your films are gonna suck. So don’t worry so much about effects.
