Question by Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong: Parents, would this birthday party theme for 5 yr olds offend you?
I am doing a 101 Dalmatians party theme for my 5 yr old son and his friends.
One of his friends mother’s is a major animal rights activists. She called me up and said that the 101 Dalamatians movie (and Disney) makes light of animals being killed for their furs and that by having this theme proves that I condone such actions. She will not allow her son to attend.
I’m not changing my theme. Is it me or is this woman taking things too far?

She is taking things to far. Your son likes puppy dogs and he is 5, sounds very developmentally appropriate to me. While it is great to be civic minded, it is sad that we cannot see past these things. Have a great party! I am sorry your son’s friend will not be there.
