On that day the whole world had need of speech pathology because men’s tongues tangled themselves. Worldwide confusion, fear, anger, and separation between peoples took immediate effect. It would have been incomprehensible to him that the reason everyone talked one way on one day and then talked differently the next day was indirectly because of him (10:25). He had witnessed a cataclysmic, miraculous event of Biblical proportion in his lifetime, but how could he have known that it was because of the future King within him?
