At present I have separate packages for movie converters, Movies to DVDs, movie joiners etc. I would be thankful if you could guide me for a complete trouble free packages to make professional Home DVDs. Thanks.

Pegasus software has 2 very easy to use programs for DVD authoring, and there’s one great program for converting various formats.
(1) VirtualDub – A great program for converting almost every format to AVI, and allow you to resize and letterbox files to the right aspect ratio
(2) TMPG-ENC – A nice program that can get your AVI files the MPEG1 (352×240) or MPEG2 (720×480), and it supports batch processing, so you can covert a whole bunch in one shot, while you can be off doing something else.
If you want to combine 2 separate files into 1, ULEAD Video Editor is a good non-linear editing program that can allow you to easily merge a few files into one. Or can even be used when you are more comfortable for doing mixing/editing between files or adding in titles or information pages.
(3) TMPG-DVD Author – Very straight forward program for authoring DVD. Supports multiple tracks, and you can add in chapters easily. The menu editing feature allows you to create custom templates . and it very user friendly. It even comes with a DVD Burning utility as well. So you don’t require an additional program like NERO.
