Q&A: Adobe After Effects CS4?

Question by Micah: Adobe After Effects CS4?
Ok so i really want to get into the movie making business. My main video editing tools i have been looking into are Adobe After Effects CS4 and Action Essentials 2 http://www.videocopilot.net/products/action2/ the 720p version. I mainly want to make action based (with realistic blood and explosions) videos and some comedy sketches. Now my question is, this is my first time EVER buying editing programs and special effects programs. Is what i have in mind good for starters? I would really rather have AE CS5 but my computer won’t support it. Please i really need your guy’s thoughts on this. I love to act and write scripts. I have everything laid out, i got a couple of buddies that have a very nice video camera and experience to go along with it. All we need is a good editing program and special effects.
To those who have maybe used these programs, could you possibly give some pointers? Or maybe if you could recommend something better? Just please keep in mind i am at a REALLY tight budget so the price must be low.
Here are my system specs
Windows XP Home SP3
Amd Black Edition 7750 dual core processor 2.71ghz (o’c to 3ghz with Cooler Master Fan)
OCZ 2gb 1066mhz running dual channel
XFX 9800GTX+
Asus 19in 1680×1050 monitor
Corsair 650W PSU 80% efficiency rating with 52A on a single +12 rail
Giggabyte Ma-770-UD3 motherboard
Thanks a million!

Even with the computer you currently have, your problem is solvable – you can download both After Effects CS4 + CS5 together:

If you’re a teacher or student, or could become one, that could help on the budget.
