Q&A: Differences between red states and blue states?
Question by Oklahoma City Slim: Differences between red states and blue states?
First of all, can we all agree that the blue states (the Northeast, the Upper Midwest, and the West Coast) are where we find most of America’s cultural centers? The blue states contain New York City, the center of America’s art and fashion worlds; Boston, America’s number one center of higher education; San Francisco, America’s second greatest art center; Los Angeles, the world capital of movie-making; Seattle, the smartest city in America according to this study http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13278190; and Chicago, an important center of art and architecture. The red states also have their cultural centers like Nashville, the capital of country music, and New Orleans, the birthplace of blues and jazz, but it seems like there are more cultural centers like this in the blue states.
My question then is this: Are the blue states more liberal because they are such culturally-vibrant environments, or are they such culturally-vibrant environments because they are liberal? What’s your opinion?
