Q&A: Do you have to use a digital movie Camera when making a DVD?
Question by Carol M: Do you have to use a digital movie Camera when making a DVD?
I am using a regular DVD recorder not my computer to make DVD’s off of 8 mm tapes. My Camera was stolen years ago and so I am bidding on ebay for a 8 mm to play my tapes. Some of them are analog and some are digital. Do I have to have digital if I am recording on a regular DVD recorder that has the video plugs. The reason I ask is the Digital ones seem to go for mor money.

if you have recorded any footage on Digital 8 then you’ll need to have a digital player… the upside is that the D8 will play all 8mm formats that you have. if you don’t have an D8 tapes, then you’ll need to buy just you’ve recorded all of your material on.
