I am trying to make a Balto video, like many others on Youtube but all i know how to do is make a slideshow. How do I get clips for my video instead of just pictures?

If you can’t download the movies then they are most likely copyrighted and protected. You can also check your temporary internet files for the file.

Then use windows media encoder to convert to a common format.
