I have a movie idea. But i’m not rich. And i’ll probably has to write the script myself (bad news). When I say successful I just mean, making more money then It takes to film it. Nothing more. I do have a lot of actor friends though.

Not all that many. In order to earn an income, you have to arrange distribution of your film or video to cinemas or video stores. You probably need to find a producer or an agent or someone who believes in the story as much as you do and persuade them to back it. There are independent production companies who might support your project.
