Q&A: How to make a movie poster?
Question by Hello!: How to make a movie poster?
I have to make a movie poster of the book Outsiders for English class. I don’t really know what a movie poster would have though….we have to get modern day actors to choose who we think would be a good actor for that character and then we have to explain why. Anybody who has read the book maybe have any ideas for what to put on there? I can come up with ideas for the actors, I just don’t know about the background or pictures and stuff that will go on there….here’s a synopsis of the book for anyone who hasn’t read it before.

First off: amazing book. Second, Movie poster are really fun to make. For some ideas, try doing a divided city. Show the shiny Soc side (west) with large houses and groups of maybe 2 walking around. On the other side, (east) you could show the greaser end of Tulsa. run down houses, busted property, and gangs running around. But show a sunset in the back round. I would put the title, author, and date coming out. (i.e November 2011) Then I would put “starring:” and the actors. If you don’t like that idea I would change the picture to the classic neck shot of a greaser in a leather jacket. It’s the modern cover of the book. Though, I would only suggest that if you are an able artist. I hoped that was what you needed help with and good luck.
