I tried to get a TV show/studio interested in a treatment that I did. I sent it to the show’s “Creative Consultant,” who called me to talk about writing for TV. He told me that he couldn’t even LOOK at the script because it was policy only to read scripts from writers with an agent.
So, I started to look for an agent. The big agencies (in LA anyway) pretty much just chuckled at me. I DID find one great agent in Colorado who read my treatments, gave very constructive feedback, and was generally, a great person to talk with about TV writing. Maybe I was just lucky, I don’t know.
My suggestion? Find a single person writer agent; write a professional introduction letter and follow-up with a phone call. And PERHAPS they might agree to read your material.
Perseverance leads to success!
Good luck!
