sean, i think camcorders section is your best bet,

avid pro is the software i like, there are a few other excellent ones also, you will need lighting, 2000w blonds and 800 watt redhaeds are good. Dedos are awesome 800w spots. You will need gels and defusers for your lights. Then the camera – digibeta is broadcast standard, if you are more into 35mm then panavision are the cams.
