Q&A: If I wanted to enter into the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition, could I enter a movie?
Question by Charmin T: If I wanted to enter into the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition, could I enter a movie?
If I wanted to enter into the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition, could I enter a movie? If so, can the movie have real people? Or can I only enter animated things…
Or, does “Art” only mean an actual piece of art like a picture or a sculpture… no movies whatsoever…?
I love movie making and I just wanted to see how far my movie could make it… just for fun…

Your question is not very clear but I’ll try to answer. People enter competitions to gain exposure or to get discovered. Contests can lead to movie offers but this is very rare. I think you will get more direct result through contacting your local college with a filming program. Make yourself available to the student aspiring directors. Lots of student movies have made it mainstream. Another idea, subscribe to Backstage online. There are always aspiring student actors/directors looking to colaborate on movie ideas. Lots of adds are for New York and LA though. Lastly, maybe you should consider going school this way you will definitely gain the know how in this field. I hope this helped.
