Question by Jesus is my Co-Pilot: If the new Star Trek movie reboots Star Trek history, why are trekkies upset?
I know a Trekkie all upset that the prequel Star Trek movie due out this year make take liberties with ‘established Star Trek canon’. So what? Its fiction- ALL of it is made up, so why does it matter if new things are made up? It happens in comic books all the time….Here are some things that should be changed-
*Write out the Christopher Pike character- Have Kirk accept command of the Enterprise upon graduation of Starfleet acadamy…
*Have Kirk & Spock roomates at Starfleet, and going on together to be assigned to the Enterprise.
*Have the Enterprise fight ther Romulans..
If the film writers have to operate withion ‘canon’, their hands might be tied- To hell with canon- I say let the writers make a good film as possible- also, tone down the blatent liberalism that ruined some of the Star trek spin offs for me….

I’d call myself a Trekkie, but c’mon! I have a life, too! I don’t live in my parent’s basement, and yes, I’ve even kissed a girl before! (refers to a speech by William Shatner on Saturday Night Live)
Trekkies seem to think that Star Trek is a religion and like religious leaders, they are quick to identify heresy. But, again, it’s ONLY TV! Really! Anyhow…
