Q&A: Is it expected to see people sing and dance aloud at movie musicals at the theater?
Question by Melissa L: Is it expected to see people sing and dance aloud at movie musicals at the theater?
Mama Mia! is the first movie musical I have seen in the movies. Is singing along and dancing around the aisles common (or expected) for movie musicals?
I paid to watch the movie; not to see and hear people singing over the movie, making noise, and dancing/running around the aisles. Have some etiquette people. You don’t do this for a broadway production so why should you do this at the movies? The security would throw out ticket buyers for being loud and running around the aisles; and I’ve seen that happen before.

Yea, that is pretty bad. It is one thing to laugh at something funny or cheer every now and then, but singing and dancing in the theatre is bad manners.
