well guys, i want to make a shortfilm to enter it in a competition, and i was thinking about putting the theme song for “requiem for a dream”, to the films climax, but i dont know if im allowed to include it??, im not intending to sell the movie. thank you

Yes, because it falls under “fair” use depending on how much of the song you put in the movie. If you put the entire song in the movie and are not critiquing the song, then it is illegal.
In google look up “dig.ccmixter” and you can find a website with completely free royalty free music.
