Q&A: new job – I need tips?
Question by mark r: new job – I need tips?
I started a trial today, it’s a 3 day trial for a holiday company. I cold call people and I know that is annoying for the receiver, but even though I made 1 sale on my first day, I still want to be making more tomorrow, otherwise I probably won’t get invited back to start the job.
I have a script so have to follow it. I can make it sound bubbly and happy and sound interested in the customer. But that’s it.
does any one have any tips on making people interested what I am selling. It’s a holiday for 4 for $ 229, and if u pay the 79 dollar deposit, they then have $ 150 to pay when they book the holiday AND have up to 14 months to take it…so it’s a bargain BUT no one wants to listento me….Any tips?
Thanks

Your problem is the sales job — people in this day and age have been so over-cold called that now the second they THINK it’s a cold call they just hang up. Doesn’t matter what you’re selling — it’s THAT you’re selling!
The normal rate of sales for cold calling is about 1 in 10. The owners know that. All you can do is keep trying. You’ll get hung up on alot, but there’s not much you can do about that.
The NO CALL list exists for a reason — that reason is COLD CALLS.
