Q&A: What can I do to edit the videos to get them on youtube?
Question by psychnut12: What can I do to edit the videos to get them on youtube?
I have taken blips of a DVD with my digital camera. (I am trying to make a small movie for youtube.) I have uploaded them from my camera to my computer, right?
K. So stupid me thinks “Cool, now all I have to do is import them into Windows movie maker.”
Look to the left and see “import” and have clicked on both pictures and videos…because they went where my pictures are. Well, I get to where a file opens and I see the 1 pic I took and none of the videos that are uploaded to my computer.
What in the world? They are uploaded and when I get to the file without the movie maker they are all exactly in the right spot…but just do not show with the program.
Can I do anything to fix it? Even if you could tell me how to edit each clip without having to use special software or without them being in the movie maker.

Make sure you know what format the clips from the digital camera are in. Windows Movie Maker won’t accept certain files such as MOV, digital cameras tend to be in those types of formats another common video file would be AVI which Windows Movie Maker accepts. Just try to import the video and not the pictures, if you get an error that WMM doesn’t support that video then chances are you might need to encode the file into a different format.
