I’m hoping for something where you can manipulate the speed at which each picture transitions from one to the other. I’m on an OS X iMac, so I have some programs for movies and things, plus some updates, but want something for the express purpose of making frame-by-frame movies.
I don’t mean a slide-show, I’m thinking more along the lines of a short video made of about ten frames running in a loop to look like something is moving. You’ll find something like this in icons on myspace, AIM, etc.

Roxio Easy Media Creator is excellent for this type of project. You can adjust the duration of each photo or add music and have the program automatically adjust the duration of the slideshow to match the length of the music.
