It’s low but don’t let that stop you! It really is a case of working hard and having the balls to go after what you want. Tarantino gave an interview for BAFTA and he gave advice for prospective film makers. Firstly, start watching lots and lots of movies of all different genres (both new movies and older classics) and learn as much as you can about them. Build up a knowledge of cinema. That way, you can start to develop your own style and opinions. Get yourself a camera and start making movies (or writing scripts). You can even enter them into short film competitions etc. Get your friends to act for you. And finally, make contacts. Talk to people in the industry and try to get some work experience in films. That way, one day, you may get your big break. Good luck bro! I’d love to go into acting or directing so I understand how off-putting the success rate can be 🙂
