Q&A: why does mtv ruin most bands they put on trl/artist of the week?
Question by megan: why does mtv ruin most bands they put on trl/artist of the week?
take paramore for example, I looked up to them I loved them but as soon as I saw them on mtv it was disgusted I changed my channel IMMEDIATELY(spelling? whatever). I was just shocked, now I barely listen to them like I used to. maybe once in a blue moon. boys like girls, I LOVED them but now I just eh like them thanks to mtv/trl.
why do they do that to bands? they expose them and turn them into sell outs and I hate it.
I now love undergound bands such as tokyo police club(not so underground but whatever), the lives of famous men, the real you, the blow, and others.
I hate mtv but I like their reality/script as crap shows. ugh mtv just die

As far as Paramore goes I always liked and still do like Paramore and I don’t see why your hate towards MTV makes you change your opinion about a great band. They were and still are a great band despite being on MTV. MTV has not done anything to change their sound and if anything has been great for their career, garnering new fans and opening up live show opportunities. If you don’t like MTV quit watching it.
