Question by Barracuda: Why doesn’t the History Channel do documentaries about the Rhodesian War?
I would like to see a movie set during this war. I think it would make for great material.

The History channel only covers topics that are easily romanticized. The History channel likes to focus on making sure that the “great white men” continue to look great. The History channel tries to make imperialism and nationalism seem like organic and benevolent things. But it is difficult to romanticize what Europe and Cecil Rhodes did in/to Africa.
