Q&A: Why is it that the writers of movies are incapable of writing anything original?

Question by creskin: Why is it that the writers of movies are incapable of writing anything original?
It appears as if over the last 5 years, the popular movies are movies that
1. are remakes of movies from years ago
2. adaptation of a book.
3. or a sequel of a previously popular movie.

What ever happened to the art of movie making which starts with the screen writer?

Do we no longer have anybody that has an imagination?

I think they just try to write about whatever is going to sell the most. It’s all about money.
