This is just the basic idea:
Alan Wickham is a 46 year old englishman. He works at a data processing company, where he has worked for the past 26 years, he has never been promoted or been given a raise, while younger workers who have been there for much less time are constantly getting promoted above him. One night he is talking to his best friend, (?? year old Mike) when Alan is told that he lives passively and that he has never done anything with his life by Mike. It is revealed that Alan’s last girlfriend was in 1983, and she looked like Alfred Hitchcock. Mike then mentions how alan used to write novels, and asks what happened to the TV show alan was writing many years ago. Alan then ponders the thought later that night when he is watching tv, when a motivation ad comes on he decides to write a tv show. He then moves to l.a after finishing the pilot but he discovers that its hard to get his work turned into a show. After numerous failed attempts at getting it produced he crashes into a woman producer on the way to pitch an idea for a tv show to a network (Or she gets fired), they fall over, since they are in hurries they pick up their bags, she picks up his black suitcase and he picks up hers. She arrives at the meeting then realises she doesnt have her bag, but she pitches his show. The network loves it, and they start making the show. The producer and Alan fall in love as they are making the show, but then the network tells the producer alan needs to be fired because they have proffesional writers who will keep writing the show, if she doesnt fire him she will lose her job too. So she tells him, he gets mad and says things like “You dont care about the show, you just care about yourself.” They part badly.
Then he re-writes the show and submits it, unbeknownst to her, they make up, then as the characters on tv kiss, they kiss as well.

I know its been done, its a romantic comedy. They have very basic repetivite plots, however this style and situation has not been done. I would have Ricky Gervais as Alan and Reese Witherspoon as the producer perhaps?
Yes its my concept, i have almost finished the script but my agent got it copyrighted anyway. Since im only 16 its probably not very worldly in its idea’s, but hopefully it leads to better things. As an idea what are the +’s and -‘s, and would the movie sell? Thanks
