Raise The Titanic ‘Making Of’ – Part One

‘Part One’ of the very rare press released documentary (not available to the public) by Lew Grade in early 1980 to help promote his then in production film ‘Raise The Titanic’. The documentary is a tongue & cheek look into the film, labelled as a “mockumentary”. To coincide with the film, Texas oil millionare and explorer/venturer Jack Grimm was interviewed, giving details of his summer 1980 search for the wreck of the real Titanic. Together with Grimm and the film crew for ‘Raise The Titanic’, actor Jason Robards acting as the films charactor Sandecker talks about how they will (in the film) locate and raise the Titanic. We also hear from advisors used for the film who give their views on the discovery and raising of the wreck (for the film). All what is seen in the documentary was amde for the film ‘Raise The Titanic’, and released some 5 years BEFORE the real Titanic was ever found. Along with deleated scenes, on-set reports, behind-the-scenes footage, THE LAST GREAT HUMAN ADVENTURE was the only ‘Making Of’ feature for ‘Raise The Titanic’.
