Silent films and the 1900s vs. Present Day?
Question by Azad A: Silent films and the 1900s vs. Present Day?
Hey, my topic for and HOA short paper is silent films and why they don’t exist anymore in the 21st century and then to write why you think it’s no longer needed or why it’s not considered important?
I wrote up a short paragraph but I feel that it is severely lacking… any help in improving it and providing some new information is appreciated…
My paragraph:
Silent films are not in production anymore because sound films were simply better than silent films because of the improved quality and the incorporation of sound. So, just as analog tv is becoming inferior to digital tv silent films later became inferior do to the sound films. Silent films may no longer exist but they have paved the way for improvement and helped bring films into peoples’ homes. Silent films were a part of America’s history and venture into the technological field of movie making.

That is not always true that “talkies are better than silent pictures” that’s like saying “color is better than black and white movies.”
Silent films are still being made today.
A group made a movie based on “The Call of Cthulhu,” one of the more popular stories by H.P. Lovecraft.
It was done in the style of a 1920s horror movie. Black and white, silent, symphonic score and it’s brilliant.
It is also regarded as the best Lovecraft film, simply because it did not rely on modern movie techniques and CGI to produce a truly good movie.
