the USA movie industry?

Question by Am137: the USA movie industry?
– I start 3 years ago and worked as production assistance
– I wrote a script for a feature film and it may work out, but outside the USA
– I was the director for an add for the TV that will be broadcast next month
– And I worked as a production manager many times, some was for known TV channels in overseas
– I may soon start a program that will be shot in the USA and I will try to sell it overseas
But with all of that,
I feel I am really away from the movie industry, I always have to find a regular job to make a living,
What I have to do, to really be working as full timer on the industry in the USA and get paid ?

I read over your question several times, and I understand why you feel you are “really away from the movie industry.”

Your note about “I always to find a regular job to make a living” indicates that you occasionally work in film, but not very often.

Your list of credentials is not strong, so when you present this to get a job in film, the producer may overlook you, and choose others with a stronger background.

What do you have to do? You can get some valuable background by taking classes at a film school, either in LA or NY. These classes are as short as week, and besides giving you some additional credentials, you will meet people who have common goals.

The reality is that many more people want to work in film than there are possible jobs. The people who commit their lives to the business have the best chance of making it. Those who are less committed don’t make it.

Good luck.
