TRON 2 (and or remake) would you recast or get original cast?
Question by markwillstar: TRON 2 (and or remake) would you recast or get original cast?
Ever since 1998-99 when the 20th annniverysary release came out, and before it, word came out that the original creator of TRON wanted to do at least a remake and maybe a sequel to the movie.
Keep in mind that this movie, made 1980-1981 was and still is a conerstone in movie making. The whole thing was shot on a black back ground and every set, lighting, sequence was done by computer. And at the time no computer monitor could display the graphics needed.
The whole thing was done by coding and was only viewed once on film.
Now imagine that being done today. Today’s technology would make TRON a phenomenom.
But, there has never been mention of a cast for it.
However in 2001 or so, TRON 2.0 came out on the pc and soon on consoles.
Flynn (Jeff Bridges) has retired (its set 20 years later), the woman (cant think of her name) died years before in a lab accident, and Allen (TRON), is now the owner and main lab guy of the company.
Somehow in destroying the MCP (master control program)
the ability to digitize humans was destroyed.
But 20 years later, allen and his son JET (not sure the real charector name), have discovered it again
And a rival company wants the technology and will do anything to get it.
When Allen dissapears, Jet learns that his father might have been digitized, and now the rival company is sending viruses via internet into his company to destory it.
Jet must digitize and search his computer (litteraly) for his father and stop a virus that could destroy not only his company but the internet all together.
the game brought back:
Allen (cant think of the actors name)
and the woman (Cindy Morgan)
would you want them in it? would you want Jeff back?
Would you recast the charectors?

When I was a kid, Tron was the BEST movie for me. Funny I just saw it some time ago, the graphics were kind of funny now, looks really dated.
Jeff Bridges should at least have a supporting role though.
