The movie is quite ingeniously done as most of the film is from the perspective of Jean-Dominique Bauby’s left eye. So in essence, we are seeing the world from his point of view. This style of directing really brought a sense of originality and perspective to this film and made it a much better film than it really should have been. If continuously reading subtitles does not turn you away, this is the film for you. In fact it may be perhaps one of the best French films ever made.
