I love volleyball. it has become my LIFE. no joke.
but here’s the thing.. I’m not amazing at it. its my third year. i have a pretty consistent over hand serve. and I’m okay at hitting, I’m a pretty good setter ( that’s been my position the past two years but i don’t really like it) and my bumps…. well lets face it. could be a WHOLE LOT BETTER.
Plus i am part of a religion that doesn’t allow sports or any physical activity on Sundays. so the club ball that is in my area is out of the deal for me to cause they only play Sundays. lets season i went to all the Sr. Girls practices cause I’m only on the Intermediate team ( that’s Between the juniors and seniors) and the Sr. welcomed me with open arms, and they really helped me with my Over hand serve,
any who. this summer is all about change for me. change in attitude. building muscle, loosing weight. and volleyball DAILY ( except Sundays of course)
a) where can i get an Out door volleyball net that WON’T blow away in the lovely strong wind that seems to come here?
b) my dad and older brother can help me every once in awhile for practicing but mostly i will be by myself. what can i do for the main things?
c)i would LOVE to learn either a – jump serve
or a – super hard, strong, powerful overhand serve. tips tricks?
d) i will be trying out for captain next season- how can i impress the coached?
e) i want to make a difference for my team, positive.
by doing so i would like to have some cheers maybe for like hitting and spiking? a good serve? after a full play cheer? something for the people on the bench to yell out? a before game dance of some sort?
f) i want my team to like me. so how can i do that? i know some people that will make cupcakes at the beginning of the season that’s tops look like volleyballs. and each girl will get a note that says about how excited i am for them to be on the team. and how i hope that we can become great team mates and better friends ( or is that super dumb??)
g) is it smart to maybe have a “movie night” or something pre- season to get to know your team?
h) warm up shirts? i found one on www.allvolleyball.com that is lime green with pink letters that says “we wear short shorts” is that cute for warm ups? or tacky?
I LOVE the sport. and hope to go places maybe with it. but i need YOUR help. please. the time you spend on a reply to this is greatly thanked.
