Question by Olivia: Was anyone else affected by the film An American Crime?
I guess I just got really upset. It was hard for me to continue watching. Usually, I’m very open minded to the media as a tool for messages deeper than what we often see. I wonder if this crosses a line though. I sobbed for hours and couldn’t sleep having watched that movie last night. Should anyone make movies that graphic? I just want to hear everyone’s thoughts on this terrible event and/ or the film.

It’s based on true events, and they actually toned down what actually happened to the girl. I don’t think they should dishonor her memory and what she had to endure by lightening up for people who can’t handle it.
