i’m very interested in movie making and have already pumped out a small music video but i want to step up, what are some cheap ways or shortcuts i could use like special effects and such. (nothing expensive im only 15 here…)

So you already have a camera since you made a video, right?
Lighting can add special effects. Make use of dimmers if you have them, colored drapes (don’t burn them!), car headlights, strobe lights, blacklights, etc. Light sets a mood. Very important for film.
Sound effects can be made using creativity. Someone is walking across gravel for example, try crunching dry cereal. You need swords to sound like they are slamming together, scrape metal pan lids together. Look up Foley Artists. Their profession is to make realistic sound effects using regular things.
If you need an object to move on it’s own, use thread that is unseen with camera angle and light. If you need computer effects, there are a few programs that may be free to download or go to a community college and see if you can get away with using their program. Nowadays high schools have programs on their computers.
